We are currently (February, 2007) collecting more goods for disaster relief need wherever it may occur.. There are still areas along the Gulf Coast that look as if the storms happened just last week and we are into the hurricane season again. We do have access to a tractor and trailer but if we had a truck-trailer combination like we took the first time, it would make transporting things a lot more simple. With a truck-trailer combination we would avoid needing: a Commercial Driver’s License; keeping log books; limitations on who is able to drive; how many hours we could be on the road; the need to stop at every DOT inspection station; as much money for fuel costs (only 25% to 50% as much) The cost per cubic foot of goods delivered would be, at worst, the same and, at best, one-half as much. If each church in St Lawrence county donated $25 per month we would be able to make a trip each month. |

We still have a desire to make at least one trip a month, two if possible, to whatever areas are in need. We are currently in contact with some pastors in the Southern Tier of New York State to deliver disaster relief supplies to that area. There are some ‘bigger’ relief organizations that are helping but they are limited to using established sites. We have the ability to go to needy pockets. |
